So I've always had a real haphazard approach to my UX knowledge and research and would really like to consolidate a good bunch of resources. Anyone care to rip open their RSS reader and share some links?

Here's a small handfull I can reel off the top of my head:

http://www.polaine.com/ - Met Andy at FOTB this year, he's been studying interaction design for some 15+ years and really knows his stuff.
http://www.baekdal.com/ - Recently stumbled across it and has some interesting articles
http://boagworld.com/ - great podcast/blog about all things web, but inlcudes a decent amount of UX stuff
http://ui-patterns.com/ - design patterns approach to interfaces

In addition to the Podcast on Boxes and Arrows I produce my own show the i.a. podcast (can't post more than one link; simply Google i.a. podcast if interested.) :)

I'm also working with colleagues in building The UX Workshop http://www.theuxworkshop.com New site design coming this week. This will be a place where UX professionals from around the world will be able to contribute video and share ideas within and outside the web.

If you’re bored of Lorem ipsum doler for your mockup text, this Dummy Text Generator is brilliant. It gives you a range of prose styles to choose from.

(Of course, 37signals “Just say no to Lorem Ipsum", but that’s for another debate!)

A List Apart has some good articles in the usability, UI, design arena.

GUUUI is a good resource for interaction design.

Designing Interfaces: Patterns for Effective Interaction Design. Some good thoughts here about UI designs. The full book is online. Some of it is a little old-school, but otherwise incredibly useful.

In addition to all of the above - I like using twitter and delicious as a resource for interesting links. For example I have the RSS feed for

twitter search on "ux OR "user experience" OR usability OR "interaction design" OR ix OR personas"
delicious search on the ux tax

in my aggregator - which gives me a firehose of interesting links to dig into when I have the time for some reading.

The Top 100 User-Centred Blogs post created a bit of a stir a while back. Still, there were some really useful resources on the list that I'd not seen before.

And I've not seen any mention of User Interface Engineering. Anything from Jared Spool is worth paying attention to.

Question is how to filter the good stuff so that your RSS reader is your friend. I've not opened Google Reader for about two months, and now I'm afraid of doing so...

I'd like to add Usability Marathon 2, a series of webinars hosted by the UIDesign Group. The webinars are already over. But the slides are already posted and the UIDesign Group is beginning to upload video recordings (2 so far) which are worth checking out.

I found this the other day: Color Oracle. It allows you to simulate different types of colour blindness, on your screen. A simple menu-ling for the Mac -- not sure about the Windows version, but there is one.

Incredibly (can't state this enough!) useful when designing data dashboards, especially where RAG states are involved. Saves having to upload the image to a simulation website (Etre have one).
